Overview of colonoscopy centres now available on-line.
In May 2009, the interactive map of comprehensive cancer care was enriched with dots representing colonoscopy centres.
In January 2009, the Czech Ministry of Health (MZCR) launched the nationwide screening programme focused on the early detection of colorectal cancer, thus adding another programme of cancer prevention to the previously launched breast cancer screening programme (since 2002) and cervical cancer screening programme (since 2008).
Colorectal cancer screening currently runs in several dozen accredited centres whose functioning is monitored and checked according to transparent rules. An accredited centre must meet strict criteria which are stipulated in the Czech Ministry of Health Gazette No. 01/2009.
