Everything you always wanted to know about Czech cancer care but were afraid to ask
A new unique book was released in March 2010 that representatively desribes recent status and future trends in Czech cancer care in the widest sense. The book entitled "Czech Cancer Care in Numbers 2008-2009" is written in English and was released by Grada Publishing.
One of the objectives was creating an information source about Czech oncology and cancer care, which would also be available for partners from abroad. The publication was originally mentioned as a thin brochure; the final output, however, exceeds original aim by far.
Individual chapters deal with e.g. cancer care management, epidemiological data processed for individual diagnoses and regions, or cancer care results.
Leading author of the book, assoc. prof. Ladislav Dusek, Ph.D. (Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses, Masaryk University, Brno) says: "The fact that we have beeen able to write such a publication, is a defence of data collection. Therefore, the book is a way to thank people, who collect data about cancer care responsibly."
The book is readily available in book shops and e-shops.
