Schematic representation of relations among cancer centres
The relations between CCCs and other cancer-related healthcare facilities (such as cooperating hospitals, mammography screening centres etc.) have been described in detail in the form of diagrams, which provide an overview of cancer care organization in individual regions of the Czech Republic.
The continuously updated versions for individual regions can be downloaded as PDF files below or from the map of Comprehensive Cancer Centres.
Generally, each region involves one or more Comprehensive Cancer Centres (CCCs), marked as a dark red box. Each CCC involves one or more healthcare facilities (university hospitals, specialized cancer centres etc.), marked as green boxes. These “green” healthcare facilities may cooperate with other hospitals or institutions, which are marked as yellow boxes. In several regions, there are even "orange" facilities cooperating with the "yellow" ones. Some regions also involve haemato-oncology centres (HOCs), marked as light red boxes, and children's cancer centres (ChCCs), marked with pink colour.
Apart from the above-mentioned healthcare facilities, the diagrams involve blue boxes, corresponding to the accredited mammography screening centres, as well as violet boxes, standing for long-term care hospitals (LCTHs) and hospices. These facilities usually cooperate with the CCCs in the respective region.
The salmon-pink oval boxes indicated under the “green” and “yellow” healthcare facilities describe the type of cancer care provided in the respective facility.
